Jane Streat, Head of Client Services at Lexington, has over 20 years’ experience working in reception services. Having worked in some of the best organisations Jane knows the secret to making sure reception staff take stress away for employees and guests form a great impression of the business they are visiting.

She says, “The reception is the face of an organisation – it is the first point of contact and ultimately represents the organisational brand. A bad experience can be detrimental to a brand and this can be costly to businesses.

“We all have high service expectations. Good customer service is not enough anymore it needs to be exceptional and reception staff have just minutes to impress guests.”

Jane started out as a receptionist herself, working in-house for smaller companies where she developed the services offered. She then moved in to the corporate world and worked as part of the reception team for a large investment bank, working her way up from receptionist to front of house manager.

She has managed huge teams across multiply services, from reception and switchboard to reservations and video conferencing. Having gone through a TUPE experience herself she understands how important it is to get the outsourcing process right and communicate with the team involved.

Jane says, “We are very people focused – our employees have a real ‘can-do’ attitude and passion for excellent customer service. We train them so that they become an extension of the organisation they are representing. Our role is to take the stress away from organisations and their employees so that they can get on with their day job and trust us to support them and look after their guests.”

Julia Edmonds, Managing Director at Lexington, says, “We recognise that great people make a great business and we are committed to supporting our employees to deliver excellent results for our clients and their customers.

“This is a key differentiator to the company culture, the business and our customer success. With Jane joining us we can continue to grow our front of house reception services and ensure we attract the best people to provide exceptional service.”
