National Receptionists’ Day Relay
Yesterday it was National Receptionists’ Day 2017. To mark the occasion Roberto Castella, Operations Manager, at Lexington Receptionist Services (LRS), put on his running shoes and hit the road to visit as many of our LRS sites as he could. His mission was to thank our team in person and ask as many of them as possible what they enjoy about working in reception.
Roberto left our Lexy HQ on his ‘Receptionist Relay Tour’ across London. During his travels he met up with Bekki, a Team Leader, who is based at one of our multi-tenanted sites in the City. He asked her why she loves her job:
“For me it’s being able to build rapport with clients and visitors from all walks of life and it’s also about being a representative. Presenting yourself knowing you are the first contact point of your client organisation to their visitors.”
Next he set off to, Arqiva, to meet up with Kristina.
She says, “I’ve developed great relationships with the staff and clients. In developing those relationships people have come to rely on me no matter what. This makes me feel valued because they know that I will do my very best to help them whatever the situation.”
Then he jumped on the tube to meet Team Leader, Anarica, at Belgrave House:
“I’m a people person and love meeting people from all walks of life. I’ve learnt loads about different countries and backgrounds, and love learning about different cultures. The most satisfying side of my role is seeing someone smile widely with a surprised look on their face because you’ve replied to them in their own language – ”Arigatou gozaimasu” or ”Dzien Dobry”!”
Roberto then went to meet Hannah, a member of our receptionist support team. The Lexington Reception Support Team plays a vital role in our business. The team work across our all of our client sites and are ready to move at a moments notice to support events, cover staff absence/training and provide support during exceptionally busy periods.
Hannah says, “I enjoy the interaction with people and the chance to meet new people every day. Whilst you can face difficult situations the challenges are definitely outweighed by the sense of fulfilment you get when you help or meet a really nice person.”
Roberto also visited Stephen, Receptionist at Hammersons. He says:
“I am fortunate enough to work with a great team and I wake up every morning looking forward to coming into work because of them!”
Denitsa, who works at Belgrave House, told Roberto she has always wanted to work as a receptionist. She said:
“I like the environment and welcoming atmosphere as well as meeting new people on a daily basis. It is a very fulfilling position and to be the face of a great company is a real privilege. I have a good understanding of other people’s need and I really enjoy being the person who is able to improve their experience. Also there is a great room for progression.”
Back at the Lexington HQ Roberto reflected on his day. He said,
“I love seeing the passion and enthusiasm from our team. Each one of them loves working with people and seeing them enjoy what they do gives me an immense amount of satisfaction.”
