Social Impact

We are committed to making a positive impact beyond the service we provide. By partnering with social enterprises and supporting community initiatives, we aim to create lasting social value.

Each LRS team member receives two paid volunteering days per year to contribute to good causes. Through our Lifetime of Enrichment campaign, we are on track to deliver 28,835 days – the average lifetime – of social value by 2025 through volunteering, apprenticeships, fundraising, and partnerships.

Refettorio Felix

Based at St Cuthbert’s Centre in London, Refettorio Felix is a community kitchen providing meals to vulnerable individuals using surplus food that would otherwise go to waste. Our team has volunteered with the charity for over 10 years, and in 2024, we helped cook and serve more than 8,000 meals. Our Green Force teams have also made a valuable contribution by donating food to Refettorio Felix, an organisation that depends entirely on surplus food donations.

Westminster Supported Internships

We are proud to work with the City of Westminster  to support their Supported Internship programme, offering training and development opportunities for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Through structured work rotations and guidance from skilled job coaches, participants gain valuable experience. We have facilitated three work placements so far, alongside several mock interview sessions with our HR team, supporting 11 interns in developing their skills and confidence in interviews.

The Flower Bank

We’re proud to support The Flower Bank to donate flowers from receptions at our sites across the city. The Flower Bank is a London-based social enterprise that rescues flowers from retailers and events, preventing them from going to landfill. Recently, flowers from our sites were used to support funeral services, including arrangements created using flowers from one of our flagship locations, Lloyd’s of London.

Hammersmith Community Gardens

Each year, our Green Force volunteers help with garden maintenance and beautification of this local community garden. The gardens provide opportunities for learning and connecting with nature, benefiting the health and well-being of residents, particularly in an area with limited green space such as London.
